A More Distinctive Audi R8
The Audi R8 already has the proportions and presence of an exotic car. This project was designed to take that presence further through coordinated visual and performance modifications.
The build combined a Vertical Doors scissor-door conversion, custom-designed branded wrap using 3M material, a Soul Performance exhaust system and custom calibration.
Vertical Doors Scissor-Door Conversion
A scissor-door system from Vertical Doors was installed to change the R8’s entry motion while maintaining normal door fitment and operation.
The installation required careful disassembly, hardware placement and final alignment. Both doors were fitted and adjusted before the vehicle moved into the finishing stages of the project.
Custom-Designed 3M Branded Wrap
The exterior received a custom wrap designed specifically around the R8’s body lines and the client’s branding.
Rather than applying isolated logos to an otherwise stock vehicle, the graphics were developed as a complete visual treatment. The design uses the R8’s side blades, low profile and contrasting body surfaces to make the branding part of the vehicle’s overall composition.
The wrap was produced using 3M material and installed after the door conversion and related body work were completed.
Soul Performance Exhaust
A Soul Performance exhaust system was installed to give the R8 a more appropriate exhaust character while preserving the quality expected from a premium performance vehicle.
The exhaust installation was coordinated with the rest of the project so the vehicle’s mechanical and visual work could be completed through one build process.
Custom Performance Calibration
The completed hardware package was paired with a custom tune developed for the vehicle’s configuration.
The calibration completed the performance side of the build and ensured the engine-management strategy was matched to the installed components.
One Coordinated Specialty-Vehicle Project
The finished R8 combines exotic-car theater, branded visual impact and a more engaging sound and driving experience.
By coordinating the scissor-door installation, wrap design, exhaust system and calibration as one project, SSV Texas was able to manage the sequence of mechanical, body and finishing work from teardown through final assembly.
