Fiberglass fitment and finish in Cyber Orange Metallic.
This four-door Ford Bronco arrived in Cyber Orange Metallic with a customer-supplied RTR body kit consisting of replacement front fenders and rear quarter panels.
Installing fiberglass body components involves considerably more than simply painting and bolting the parts onto the vehicle. Proper fitment, surface preparation and alignment must be established before the final finish is applied.
Initial Fitment
Each RTR component was dry-fitted to the Bronco before paint. This allowed us to evaluate panel alignment, mounting points, surrounding clearances and the relationship between the new bodywork and the factory panels.
The fiberglass components required substantial handwork to achieve the panel fit and surface quality expected for the finished vehicle.
Fiberglass Surface Preparation
The front fenders and rear quarter panels were carefully surfaced and refined before entering the paint process. Completing this work before color application is critical because paint cannot conceal waves, uneven transitions or inconsistencies in the underlying fiberglass.
The components were repeatedly evaluated against the vehicle throughout preparation so the final finish would complement the factory body rather than appear like an unfinished add-on.
Cyber Orange Metallic Paint
Once the fit and surface preparation were complete, the RTR fenders and quarter panels were painted Cyber Orange Metallic to match the Bronco’s factory finish.
Metallic color matching requires control of the color formula, application technique and metallic orientation. The goal was a consistent transition between the original body and the newly finished fiberglass components.
Finished as Part of the Vehicle
The completed conversion gives the Bronco a wider, more aggressive profile while maintaining a cohesive factory-color appearance.
This project demonstrates the preparation behind a properly finished fiberglass body kit: dry fitting first, correcting and surfacing the parts, and applying color only after the bodywork is ready.
